Poytechnique Memorial – Montreal

December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. 27 years ago, on December 6th, there was massacre that happened at Montreal’s Polytechnique where 14 women were murdered and another 10 were injured. To honor the victims of this senseless act of violence, for the last three years, Montreal has been erecting pillars of blue light on top of Mount Royal. There are 14 pillars in total, one for each of the victims.
