BIG Tower – Vancouver, British Columbia

Vancouver City Council has unanimously approved a proposal to build a 52-storey tower designed by Bjarke Ingels Group – the fifth tallest in the city. The building starts off with a triangle base, a unique honeycomb facade, and shifts into a rectangular shape. The twisting form allows it to set it back from vehicle traffic running on the Granville Street Bridge and maximize the views of the waterfront. This new addition will settle prominently as a starchitect landmark in the downtown Vancouver skyline and will provide the city core and the north end of the bridge with a proper ‘welcoming gateway.
