Street Lighting – Regina, Saskatchewan

These beautiful lights were seen in a parking lot in Regina, SK and stuck out from their drab and sad surroundings like a diamond in the rough. The organic and flowing form makes them feel like giant flowers that have poked through the asphalt. The light element is bent subtly towards the ground, providing a warm glow of light for the street to enjoy. It is common for our built environment to feel like it was constructed from the minds of accountants, and much of it is, rather than designers. Finding this was a great relief.
