Nut Meat Chopper

The name says it all: if you want to chop nuts, this is your gadget. It’s remarkable how much design has gone into this single, simple task: place nuts inside the jar, secure the lid, turn the crank and the Nut Meat Chopper dispenses evenly sized nut pieces into the measuring cup (accurate to a quarter teaspoon), which even has a twist open spout for sprinkling your carefully measured nuts.

This was once a fairly common item. Androck and it’s competitors produced variations on this design for decades. Today, the straightforwardness of the task (and the name) seems laughable. We’ve mostly replaced this kind of specialized kitchen tool with multi-taskers like the food processor, relegating this kind of design to late night television.
