Chalet Glass

ChaletBowl4.jpg glc.jpg Created by Canadian master craftsmen who had immigrated from Murano, Italy to Ontario, Canada in the 1940’s. The work that was created was highly organic and extended from the traditional techniques and beauty of Venetian style art glass. These unusual forms and objects were free from the dogma of the Venetian glass makers who resisted modern day techniques. This work has become extremely collectible and demonstrates the cross-pollinating world of Canadian design, where techniques and cultures mixed and new directions were established.
