This whole series is fantastic… the ridged profile on the drawers gives this great lines and ads just enough visual interest.
Not sure about the date on this though… I assume that the source for this info is Gotlieb & Golden’s “Design in Canada”, but if you compare the details, this is actually a slightly different model. Not sure if it is earlier or later, but the 1952 version (shown in their book) has square tapered legs (as opposed to these turned legs), with no visible support structure between the long legs or across the back. The ’52 version also has side panels that extend flush with the desk top (if you see a picture of this version, note the little notched detail, which creates a nice visual separation between the two surfaces) and doesn’t have the notched out handles that you see in this example.

I have this exact model. Someone was throwing it in the bin. The craftsmanship is unlike any more modern furniture I own. The drawers slide incredibly with such ease, very smooth. The undulating, carved wood front is also beautiful. By far my best find, to date! Cheers.
