Evans Bros. Piano

Made of solid and veneer mahogany, this Evans Bros. piano was hand-carved and of a limited edition, only two of which are now known to exist; it received honors at the 1910 Chicago World’s Fair. With original carpenters marks, and no serial date provided, it is believed to be the very first made. It is unknown how many once existed, as the company building burned down, and most information was lost. The Evans Bros. Company began in 1872 and slowly started to die during the 1920s. Like most Canadian piano manufacturers, operation ceased in the early 1930s.
