$50 Bill

This may be navel gazing but these little “postcards” carried a lot of meaning and symbolism into the lives of many Canucks and create a mythical place where Canadian identity was anchored. This series from the late sixties until the mid seventies established and built on the iconic side of Canadian identity in a wonderfully nostelgic way. One of the truly sensational bills from the Canadian government. Oh yeah, the guy on the bill is the William Lyon Mackenzie King (Prime Minister 1921 – 1926, 1926 – 1930 and 1935 – 1948) with the RCMP Musical Ride, Dome formation on the back.
