Winnipeg White Pages Phone Book

People say that mainstream graphics are shallow and generic, which is probably true but this widespread publication breaks that mold. The cover presents a surreal collage. Standing in the shadow of a highway sign declaring that Winnipeg is the longitudinal center of Canada, one cut out buffalo turns to tell another, “Apparently Toronto isn’t the center of it all”. The cover is charming and unique with a whiff of regional politics to boot. Maybe Toronto can learn something from this, their white pages have done away with the cover and replaced it with a Pizza Pizza ad instead. Not quite as endearing as this one from Manitoba.
