North Bay Voyager Motel Postcard

These vintage hotels are getting so hard to find. I have been traveling the Ontario backwoods aggressively, and continually find that these time capsules are either boarded up, retrofitted by a newer hotel, or dropped and replaced with the generic Ho Jo’s style. Not sure if it is the economy, or the new shape of business that is responsible for killing them off but the variety and feel of the classic Canadian roadside motel is gone. I am also not sure if this is good, or bad, but the new beige hotel rooms force me to wake up and wonder where I am, because they all look the same.
