Canadian Olympian Trading Cards

148.jpgDesigned by Brian Mills for Clive Court (Mgr of Radio Network  Promotion) to promote the CBC’s TV and Radio coverage of the 1976 Olympic Games.  When Mcdonald’s Canada rejected the idea of distributing them. They were then offered  to schools where teachers were encouraged to use them to reward students for participating in athletic activities related to the Olympic Games.   Court said his research showed that Canadian school children had little knowledge about Canada’s top international athletes or what it meant to represent Canada at the Olympic Games.  He had a tough time getting internal approval for the project which won the 1977 Educational award from the Canadian Public Relations Society.
