Design: Sarah Dorkenwald and Ruth Spitzer, Toronto ON
Client: Droog Design, Netherlands
Date: 2005

“Whereas usually Droog Design approaches a specific designer for an assignment, in the Droog T-shirt Competition 2005, Droog wanted to give every designer the chance to send a concept for a short-sleeve T-shirt made of cotton”. True to their name, this brief is as dry as they come. The designers real challenge was to design and build narritive, no matter how tight the constraint may be. Sarah and Ruth, recent additions to the Canadian design community, designed a great story into their design and created the winning entry.

This is yet again another fine example of current Canadian designers causing a stir in Europe… there are many who have been embraced by Droog, and others such as Marti Quixe of Barcelona, and Li Edelkoort Studios in Paris. Check out StuartSproule.com as another hot tamale on the scene who has sparked attention from Droog, etc.
