Marianne McCrea McClain (1920-2008) was a versatile Vancouver artist and educator. In 40’s and 50’s she designed fabric for Vancouver clients and for George Hees and F.W. Fewks (both Canada) and Riverdale (New York). McClain also worked as a potter, architectural muralist, clothing designer, interior designer, book illustrator and teacher.

This fabric was used by swimwear designer Rose Marie Reid to create the “Canadiana” Swim Suit.
