NRC Mouse Prototype

 

In 1971 the Data Systems section of the National Research Council in Ottawa launched a program to develop a package of 3d drawing and manipulating programs that would allow animators to work with computers. While the first mouse prototype was made seven years earlier, they had not come into common use. This was the input device developed to work with the animation system.
