Allan Collier Collection
Thanks for helping us make the CDR better.
This looks like the same mould as a Blue Mountain Pottery piece designed (it is thought) by Dennis Tupy in the 1950’s which is 12″ high and about 5″ in diameter at the widest part. It’s a beautiful shape and this example by Crown poses interesting questions. Can we see a photo of the mark and know the dimensions?
The piece has the same glaze of a piece that I picked up a garage sale today but is a different shape. The piece is marked Crown Ceramics, Vancouver.BC in a circular fashion with a lll in the centre of the bottom. I assumed by the glaze that it was the fifties but I am a new collector of ceramics.
I too just bought a CC piece, a boat shaped deep turquoise fruit bowl. I don’t have a photo yet. I sure like the green pinched bowl.
Anyone else out there know something about this maker?
I will send info and picture of mark shortly. Crown Ceramics was in business until about 1957. All have 3-digit mold #. AC
That would be great Allan! Just send the picture to me and I’ll add it to the post.
Holly (or any BMP collectors),
It would be nice to see the Blue Mountain version… can you provide a picture?
Does anyone know if Crown Ceramics products are in demand? I have a four-piece CC set in an odd pink colour – scalloped centre bowl and three dishes that fit around it with a maple leaf shape to the outside of them. I was thinking of selling the set. If anyone has info on sales, I’d appreciate it.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME PICS…CAN YOU SEND THEM TO US AT THE CDR?
I picked up Crown Ceramics Vancouver BC 401 at an auction. It’s been difficult to find info, but I am interested in selling this item. Any collectors out there? I can send pictures if you contact me at email@example.com
